Comfort and Joy

Our Christmas decorating is usually pretty simple around here, but this year I decided to make one little change that just popped into my head and I love it. We've traditionally just thrown some lights and decorations on our tree and topped it with our angel, but the past few year's I've been feeling like it's just a bit boring. I was planning on going out to buy a garland and then I realized I had the perfect materials to make one right here. I used the tons of leftover ribbons from our wedding, tying them together in varying lengths and viola: the perfect, bright and cheerful and meaningful garland has been born.

(Pictured above are Maddie and I about to hang our great grandma's mercury glass ornament.)
