My mom found us this calendar at a Barnes and Noble-- well actually at a BN sale benefitting my school! For those of you not familiar (Sarah), Eric Carle is the author/artist of the Hungry Caterpillar and Dream Snow, a Christmas book.
The calendar is way more awesome than it sounds because it's actually ... Wait for it... A pop-up calendar.
Tadaa! (you love my crappy iPhone photos. Admit it.)
Each day as you open the door, you get a little ornament to hang on the tree.
Today's was the little green Santa ornament you can see here.
Oh and Maddie filled all the pop up present boxes with rocks. You know just in case you were looking for an idea on how to use yours.
Happy counting!

OH. Now I am familiar! I feel like I skipped over children's books and went for the hard stuff way too early, so I am always out of the loop when it comes to stuff like this. P.S. Don't let Maddie read VC Andrews until she is at least 21!
Ooooh! This one definitely blows the old advent calendars of our youth right out the window! But they are pretty cool no matter how you look at it...this one just happens to be a little more cool...
Sarah, you probably read Jane Eyre at 8.
