Monday, Monday

Maddie had her 2 month wellness visit today, which sadly meant 4 shots. Poor baby, she screamed bloody murder, but luckily Rob was there to hold her while they did it. Now she's sleeping, though she's been a little fitful and fussy. Meanwhile, Dr. Bo told us that she's pretty much perfect and she weighs 11lb9oz now.

We had one of our first "weekends" in a very long time. Rob is now the store manager at his coffeehouse and was able to have a weekend off prior to starting in his new position. So we took Maddie to the cottage where we all had an amazing time. As you may have guessed from the video I posted yesterday, Maddie met grass for the first time. I don't think she's a big fan. It did rain a bit yesterday so we didn't get to introduce her to the lake. Mostly we just relaxed:

This is what I saw when I got up on Saturday morning -- Maddie and her Dad rocking and looking at the lake.

Maddie and I had breakfast on the front porch.

Maddie decided to hang out in her PJs.

Our jaunt into the backyard, complete with oversized sun bonnet.

Evasion tactics.

Meeting Aunt Nancy and Uncle Jack.

Complete exhaustion after all the excitement. This of course is the reason that today I am utterly exhausted. Sadly, Maddie got just a little bit too much sleep yesterday and found it really fun to sleep rather half-heartedly. So I got two hours last night, plus a few 20 minute increments mixed in in various places. Ah well, such is life with a baby!

The good news is Rob should be able to take most weekends off now, so we will be spending more time down at the cottage.

Brought to you by the letter A...

As in Pain in the A.... Yesterday I cut my finger on the letters on my Mom's car. So if I die or loose a finger, you will all know why.

In other news, yes, Maddie slept through the night. I put her down at 11:00 pm and she slept until 6:00 am! I heard her give a cry at midnight, but realized that she was just fussing in her sleep as she often does. So I fell back asleep fully expecting to be wakened shortly there after. When I woke up at 6:00 am to perfect silence, I was completely shocked and terribly worried that 1) something was wrong or 2) I had magically slept through her crying during the night and she had finally just given up. But when I went in to check on her, she was still asleep though flailing about in her sleep (also as she often does).

Sadly, I cannot possibly expect a repeat performance. She has slept much of today also -- a nap in the morning and then a really long nap in the afternoon. And though she does sleep more than stay awake, I think it's likely that she is just getting caught up on sleep after such a long weekend of excitement and visitors. You've already seen a lot of pictures of our week, but here are a few more that I think are really cute:

Black cat finds a new friend in Chris.

Maddie isn't at all scared of the muppet. We think she really does believe it's her Dad.
